House and Studio for themselves c/o Marta Piaseczynska & Rangel Karaivanov

With curiosity and awe I visited the work of my friends Marta and Rangel, whom amidst a global pandemic audaciously throw everything they have at realising this house and future workspace for themselves, for which ideas supplant inexperience just fine. Here the rhythmic windows along the external wall that originally dropped below ground to open will become more static; whereas inside—instead—the walls will shift into varying private arrangements.

The depths of the former swimming pool become a sunken workshop and office, connected but separate by use. Two expanses of window above—appointing two directions—form clerestories of quiet grandeur.
